While in a gaming dry spell for a couple years I had started work on collecting gaming materials in case a game should pop up somewhere.what came out of this is my version of a Complete Gamer Kit.

Some of the items were selected because many of the cheapass games I bought do not come with playing pieces and/or game money also from past experience there are a few last-minute items you always have to scrounge around for to set up or continue game play.

The case is a plastic compartment case I bought at Frys Electronics, it is a good size (9"x14") and the horizontal dividers can be positioned for optimum storage. Another benefit to this particualr case is you can get a toolbox designed to hold up to four cases as drawers, making multiple case transport easy.

Gaming Kit Contents:

• Mechanical Pencils (the gamers friend, no sharpening! (I load up on them when I see 5 packs at the dollar stores)
• Pencil Eraser - I prefer the white rubber ones but some people swear by the good 'ol pink pearls.
• Highlighters (emphasize stats/etc.)
• Opaque Paint Pen - used to mark miniatures' bases, etc. to itentify everyone's objects. (the opaque paint pens are visible on black surfaces and are more permanent than ink markers. About $2.50 to $300 at craft stores.)
• Water based overhead projection markers (they are water-baed ink pens, good for writing (and erasing from) those vynil game mats (DONT USE DRY ERASE!!!)
• Game Pieces - Colored dots, colored triangles, penny-toy spaceships (for game pieces, counters, etc. the colored bits you can find either in a craft store or at a teacher's supply store.)
• Game Currency - printed on bright card stock in several denominations (card stock for durability, colors for easy sorting/recognition.) A good part of the challenge is to settle on denominations I went with 1, 5, 10, 100, and 1,000.
• Game Coins/Prizes - penny-toy coins and tiny silver/gold trophys (which can be purchaed individually or in bulk -along with the toy spaceships - along with other cool stuff at party supply stores)
• Colored Paper Clips - Page Marker or stat indicator.
• Colored Six-Sided Dice - a variety of six siders in severl colors - hopefully matching some of the game pieces - important for some games. (found a multi-color set at a dollar store).
• Polyhedrals - gotta have them polys!
• Blank six-siders - found at a teacher's store can also get other blank polyhedrals at koplow games. (You never know when you need to replace a special die or make your own for a special rule.)
• Measuring Tape - (that round thing) got that in the 'sewing notions' department of a craft store, not as bulky as metal tape.) Essentials for miniature wargaming.
• Calculator - (Now let's see, 123 kobolds at 13 EPs each, plus 1,280 for the gold...)
• Small Bell - Game End Signal (i.e. for PIT) or if your have a very unruly group something to get the attention of the crowd. (craft or teacher store again)
• Scissors - Never know when you need to cut something out - found those folding scissors at a fabric.craft store.
• Funny Dice - Ok, - I'm a dice addict, if it's off the wall I gotta get one, pizza dice, double dice, big dice, electronic dice, tiny dice, fuzzy dice, etc.

This is one of four, two others hold miniatures (painted, and unpainted) and thr third holds paints and brushes. You can get similar cases at craft stores and the like.
