COMMODORE 128 (to be given away on Sunday)

The Commodore 128 the next generation of the Commodore 64. Not only capable of running as a Commodore 64, it also has an expanded 128 mode with expanded BASIC and 80-column capabilities. Also with the Z80 processor, the 128 can run as a CP/M computer to access many CP/M programs such as popular business programs, like Wordstar and dBase II.

  • an 8502 processor (similar to the 6510 the Commodore 64, but capable of 2MHz speed)
  • a Z80 processor
  • a VIC-II graphics chip for 40-column color graphics, sprites, etc.
  • a 6568 graphics chip capable of 80-column color hi-res graphics.

  • BASIC 7 included graphics, sprite animation, & sound commands; advanced programming; and a built-in mini ML monitor assembler/disassembler
  • JiffyDOS included in the C128 (but not in the 1571 disk drive)

Includes a Commodore 1571 Disk Drive, capable of loading Commodore 64/128 5.25“ floppy disks and Commodore 128 CP/M 5.25” disk software.

Guinness Book of World's Records lists the Commodore 64 as the most sold of any one model computer. Winning the home computer market for the 80s and being the inspiration to many of the tech pioneers today, the commodore 64 provided instant access to programming and learning computer technologies. Even today the Commodore 64 is still highly regarded as a worthy addition to a vintage computer or video game collection.

The Commodore 64 while well known for games was also popular for small business and home productivity in the 80s, as well as handy in electronics experimentation, music, and ham radio.
